Do yourself a favor this summer and book a trip with Cape Kayaking. It’s one of the most enjoyable and relaxing ways to explore what makes our Cape Cod seacoast area so special.
The experienced team at Cape Kayaking offers a variety of tours that not only take you through the tidal rivers, bays, estuaries, and many winding trails of Cape Cod National Seashore, but also provide a wealth of information about the places you paddle and the plants and animals you encounter. Owner Jonathan Palino is a Cape Cod native with an education in sports and coaching, and years of experience paddling, leading tours, teaching skills, and directing outdoor adventures. He brings all of that to the tours at Cape Kayaking.
You’ll find a wide selection of tours, ranging from tranquil outings to more challenging paddles, as well as tours for specific interests, such as birding. Trips leave from a variety of sites along the Cape. Below are a sampling of what’s offered. For a complete listing of the tours—each of which cost $70 per person—be sure to check out the Cape Kayaking website.
Nauset Marsh Low Tide. This excursion begins at the Hemenway Boat Landing near our Inn here in Eastham. The calm three-hour tour winds through sand bars and marsh walls where you’ll discover many native birds, and can learn how to find clams in tidal waters.
Full Moon Sunset Paddle. This very special tour in Nauset Marsh, offered only several times during the summer, captures the magical moments as the sun sets. A photo op for sure!
Monomoy Island Wildlife Refuge. More experienced kayakers will enjoy this chance to paddle open water, go along paths to where birds nest and seals play, wind through moored fishing fleets, and skirt along the coast.
Kayaking is just one of the many summer adventures to enjoy here on Cape Cod. Call us at Whalewalk Inn to book a stay, and we can help you arrange an itinerary that includes everything from outdoor adventure to history to dining under the stars.
