Our Breakfast Recipes
Any time of year you visited us at The Whalewalk Inn & Spa, you will enjoy a delicious meal or two! We believe that a good breakfast is the best way to start a good day. We make everything from quality fresh ingredients right here at the Inn. We serve 3 courses daily. First a pastry course, then the main course which varies between one day sweet, and the other savory. There is always fresh fruit and breakfast meat along with the main dish. We are happy to accommodate most dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, lactose-free, or nut-free if we are informed prior to arrival.
Take a look at some of our favorite recipes here at Whalewalk Inn. We hope you’ll find your new favorite recipe to remind you of your visit to our bed and breakfast on Cape Cod!
SOUR CREAM WAFFLES ( a local classic and favorite of JFK)
1/3 c. melted butter, 3 eggs separated, 1 tsp. Vanilla, 3/4 c. milk, 3/4 cup sour cream, 2 tsp baking soda, 11/2 c. flour, 1/2 tsp salt
Combine flour, salt, and other dry ingredients. In a separate bowl beat yokes in a large bowl, then add milk, vanilla, and sour cream. Mix until even, add melted butter slowly. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet, mix well. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff. Add to the mix carefully, do not over mix. Pour into waffle maker and follow instructions. Makes 10 waffles.
We like to top this with fresh made blueberry or cherry sauce, depending on which is in season!
