Whalewalk Inn PoliciesLife is hectic and it is difficult to find the time to plan and take a much-needed break. Cape Cod is the perfect place to relax, re-charge and reconnect with those that you love so let us help take the stress out of planning your trip. Here are a few ideas on how to plan the perfect weekend getaway.

Friday

Begin your getaway when you arrive at Whalewalk Inn & Spa. The Inn was built in 1830 by a whaling captain and today it features 16 beautifully decorated rooms and a full-service spa. Whalewalk Inn offers peace and quiet in its secluded location while also being conveniently located near many of the area’s popular attractions.

After you get settled in a comfortable room, enjoy a cocktail on your private patio, take a quiet stroll on the grounds or schedule some time at the spa for a massage.

Saturday

Wake up to a beautiful sunrise and a delicious breakfast made fresh and served on the patio or sunporch.

If you love the outdoors and want to enjoy the natural beauty, take a short drive to Cape Cod National Seashore, one of the area’s most scenic locations. Created by John F. Kennedy in the early 1960s, visitors can walk or bike the trails that wind through 40 miles of preserved beaches, waterways and forests located on the outer Cape.

With so many delicious restaurants to choose from, there’s little chance you will be disappointed. If you are in the mood for fresh seafood caught in the waters off the Cape, try the Friendly Fisherman. Located in North Eastham, the Friendly Fisherman serves healthy portions of clam strips, lobster rolls and more. If seafood isn’t your craving, try Karoo Restaurant. Also located in Eastham, Karoo offers traditional South African cuisine. The menu is designed to include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free versions as well as the original, chicken, beef, and fish based dishes.

Sunday

Start another day with a satisfying breakfast at the Whalewalk Inn. For those that love history, head to Sandwich for a day in the oldest town. Visitors can spend the day walking the beautiful streets lined with colonial buildings and visiting local shops and galleries for a step back in time.

Learn more about Sandwich at the Sandwich Glass Museum. This museum proudly interprets the history of Sandwich with its exhibits and collections. The Hoxie House is a restored, authentic saltbox house built in 1637 and is the oldest house. Knowledgeable tour guides show their love for the house as they explain how life was for people in the 1600s.

Sandwich’s beaches are also popular during the summer and off-season months. Take a stroll down Town Beach, Spring Hill Beach and East Beach for the beautiful sunsets. Beaches are easily accessible and offer parking for a day-fee.

For a casual lunch try the Brown Jug Cafe. This quaint little shop is a perfect spot for a cappuccino and scone or glass of wine and a slice of pizza or grilled cheese sandwich. Dine on the outdoor patio with a cozy fire pit.

Make your Whalewalk Inn & Spa reservations now and start looking forward to a perfect  getaway!
