Plan Now For Summer 2017 On Cape Cod

Yes, there’s a nip in the air and Old Man Winter is hanging around for a few more months, but this is the ideal time to begin making vacation plans for the summer.

Festivals are a top draw here, and no town does it up more than Provincetown. Here are a few of its scheduled events.
June 23-26, 2016
Provincetown Portuguese Festival & Blessing of the Fleet. An homage to the town’s rich heritage includes a parade, fishing derby, concerts, kids’ games, and fabulous Portuguese foods.

August 10 & 14, 2017
Provincetown Jazz Festival. See notable musicians such as Billy Stritch, Scott Avidon, Evan Christopher, and Nikki Parrot at this always-popular event.

August 12-18, 2017
Provincetown Carnival Week. First begun to represent the LGBYT community, this event now draws a wide range of visitors to enjoy the parade and festivities. This year’s theme: God’s and Godessess.

Let’s play ball! The Cape Cod Baseball League is a popular all summer long. Plan to stay for a week and take in a game a day, heading from one quaint town to the next. The season is June 14 – August 3, 2017. Playoff games continue after the regular season.

Music lovers, take note of The Melody Tent. This local venue has been presenting world-class performances for more than 60 years, with stars from all genres of music. The 2017 schedule will be posted on the website mid-January. In addition, many of our towns also have weekly concerts in the park. We’ll be happy to help share their schedules with you.

Cape Cod also offers visitors a wonderful array of museum experiences. One of most popular, The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum, will be featuring a special exhibit to celebrate the 100 anniversary of his birth. Opening on May 29, 2017, “JFK at 100: Life and Legacy” tells the President’s story, including his time spent at Hyannis.

And no summer is complete without getting out on the water. Sign up with Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises to get a glimpse of whales and other amazing creatures. The company’s season begins mid-April and continues through mid-October. Want to try your hand at sport fishing? Rock Harbor Charter Service is the largest fishing fleet on the Cape – and just 5 minutes from the Inn which makes for a super easy commute.
