The Cape Cod Institute, now in its 40th season, is a summer-long program of continuing education courses designed for professionals in the health and mental health fields. Week-long courses run Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM, allowing participants time to enjoy the beauty and nature of Cape Cod while furthering their education. Partnering with the Institute this summer, the Whalewalk Inn offers a lodging discount to participants who book directly with the Inn, adjusting breakfast hours to accommodate their needs.
Founded in 1980, the Cape Cod Institute offers week-long workshops, many leading to certification, on topics relevant to the world of educators and leaders in mental and behavioral health. Workshops are structured to allow sufficient leisure time so the participants can network with colleagues and embrace the myriad activities available to them in the lovely towns and villages surrounding the Institute’s campus at the Nauset Regional High School in Eastham.
Optional evening programs invite participants to interact with the staff and faculty of the Institute outside the classroom. On Monday evenings throughout the summer sessions, the Whalewalk Inn hosts a Welcome Reception from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, serving light refreshments on the patio, which creates the perfect opportunity to network and get to know others in the program. A guided nature hike, evening whale watch, and local theater production round out the evening offerings.
Although this season’s Institute is coming to an end, you should make plans early for next year. For more information about the program, check out the Cape Cod Institute’s website.
