It started simply, with a love of chocolate and a small candy store in 1989. Today, Hot Chocolate Sparrow is a thriving cafe in Orleans, Massachusetts.
Housed in a charming white cottage, the cafe is a mainstay in the Orleans community, providing a favorite meeting place where regulars gather for morning coffee, catch up over lunch, or hang out together in the evening. The cheery decor is welcoming, with red plastic-backed chairs and bakery cases and shelves filled with delicious things to eat.
Covered in Chocolate is a regular favorite on “best-of” lists, known for its excellent coffee drinks and desserts. It features coffees from around the world and, as expected, wonderful hot chocolates. Stop into the welcoming cafe for lunch or dinner and you’ll find a lineup of sandwiches with a choice of breads in combinations such as turkey, roasted red peppers, and pesto. One sandwich you won’t find anywhere else—the Sparrow Grilled Chocolate Sandwich.
As you would expect, Hot Chocolate Sparrow makes scrumptious homemade desserts. It also serves Richardson’s Family Farm ice cream, in cones, sundaes and drinks.
Once the sole focus, the hand-dipped chocolates are still a Cape-wide favorite and are sent to fans all across the country. Treat yourself and get some to take home with you.
