Set between the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Cod Bay and next to the National Seashore and its miles of unspoiled land, Truro Vineyards has an enviable setting. The fact that they also produce wines you’ll enjoy drinking makes it all the more reason to plan a visit over there.
Truro Vineyards was founded in 1992. The current owner, Dave Roberts took over in 2006 after a career spent in the fine wine and spirits industry. Today he gets to focus on his passion, working with his family to produce an impressive variety of white, red, and specialty wines. 
Red wines are blended from estate-grown Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes, as well as varietals from other top American vineyards and aged 16 to 25 months in oak barrels. There are four red varietals including a bold, Bordeaux-style Triumph Meritage and the signature Cabernec Franc. The five white wines range from the lightly-oaked Chardonnay to a semi-dry Vignoles that has hints of pineapple and guava. The winery also makes specialty wines, including a Lighthouse Series in keepsake bottles: Cranberry Red boasts local cranberries in its semi-sweet blend; Cape Blush, a salmon-colored wine that’s as refreshing as a summer day in Truro; and the semi-sweet and light Diamond White.
Truro Vineyards offers $10 tastings that include samples of five wines with a souvenir glass. Tours are given from Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day weekend.
