Plan Now For Summer 2019 On Massachusetts Coast

Before you know if the chilly winds of winter will give way to warm ocean breezes, so now is the ideal time it’ to schedule your summer getaway. Though Whalewalk Inn is closed until April, we are taking reservations and will be happy to help you.

Like always, there will be lots to see and do this summer—ocean activities, local events, lazy walks on beaches and dinners by the shore. Here are a few highlights to help you in your planning.

Music and Theater
For more than 60 years, the Melody Tent has been showcasing star performers in all genres of music. The Summer 2019 season runs June 25 to July 28. A listing of shows will be on the venue’s website mid-January so be sure to check it out.

The Cape Playhouse is a gem of a theater, started in 1920 and hosting top actors ever since. Here’s the summer 2019 lineup:
June 12-22, The Importance of Being Earnest
June 26-July 6, Little Shop of Horrors
July 24-August 3, A chorus Line
August 7-17, Noises Off
August 21-31, Deathtrap

Festivals!
The season kicks off in May with the Cape Cod Maritime Days. Activities will be held up and down the coast. Check the website later this month for a listing of events.
Provincetown is a little hotbed of fun events during the summer, beginning with the Portuguese Festival—an homage to the towns rich heritage—June 27-30, 2019. Also not to miss, the 15th Annual Provincetown Jazz Festival, August 15 and 19.

Baseball
The boys of summer return as the Cape Cod Baseball League takes to the fields June 10. The season runs through August 10 and you can catch games in ten towns up and down the coast.

Ahoy!
The ocean is calling. Book a deep sea fishing trip with Rock Harbor Charters and let its excellent crew of captains guide you to the big catch. You could also paddle your way through the winding trails of Cape Cod national Seashore with Cape Kayaking. The full moon sunset paddle is magical. Summer is also peak whale watching season.
